Welcome to the home of the Spartans! As a proud Spartan teacher that helped open the Sossaman Middle School in 2013, Mr. Potts taught 7th grade Social Studies, coached multiple sports for six years and served as the Dean of Students for three years. Mr. Potts is extremely honored to be a part of the Sossaman Middle School administration team and, as the Spartan Principal, working with our incredible staff, students and community. 

Mr. Potts was born in Ohio and, upon moving to Arizona, attended Mesa Public Schools, completed his Associated Degree in Criminal Justice before completing his Bachelor of Arts in Secondary Education from Arizona State University and Master’s in Educational Leadership from Northern Arizona University.

As we pursue the idea of a growth mindset in our district, Mr. Potts provides support for students academically, behaviorally, socially, and emotionally as we guide all students through middle school and prepare them for the next chapter in their academic career.
